Brethren, Let us not be
ignorant...

As believers, we carefully walk in this world as strangers and pilgrims. The
Sacred Scriptures constantly teach us how we should be prudent and have a
spirit of sound mind. As our citizenship is in heaven and as we are not of the
world, we tread in this world as a soldier walking through the enemy territory
in a state of high alert. Though the world recognizes us as unlearned and
ignorant men [Acts 4:13]. But to make the world to take knowledge of us as the
ones who are with the Lord Jesus Christ, It requires a constant vigil which the
word of God provides and also to know and understand the lessons the Spirit of
God gives to us. It is worth to learn lessons from the portions where Apostle
Paul warns believers not to be ignorant.
In 1Corinthians Chapter 10 apostle Paul, talks about the fathers and the
privileges they enjoyed as the people of God. It is important to note that the
words ALL and MANY. All our fathers were under the cloud, passed
through the sea, did eat same Spiritual meal and did drink the same Spiritual
drink from the Spiritual Rock [Christ] that followed them. But with many of
them God was not pleased. Here the lesson for us to know is the state of our
heart. These things did not happen to our fathers just by chance that we may
take convenient lessons. But God so designed the history that one may know the
intent for which they are recorded. They are not written for our information,
but are written for our admonition, that we may appreciate the wisdom of
God in placing them as ensamples so that we may apply it to ourselves and take
the more earnest heed ,as we think we stand lest…. we fall. So brethren let us not
be ignorant, but learn lesson as we are taught by the word of God through
the help of the Spirit of God.
In I Corinthian Chapter 12 again Apostle Paul warns believers not to be
ignorant of the Spiritual things. We are quite familiar with teaching of this
chapter. We can learn simple lesson from verse 7" But the manifestation of
the Spirit is given to everyman to profit withal (whole assembly)”.We
need to understand that everyman is given a responsibility and none of
us can excuse ourselves from it. As we gather around the emblems of the Lord on
a Sunday morning or around the Word to know the God’s mind or around the Mercy
seat to draw from inexhaustible riches of our God, it is our duty to wait upon
Lord to take our turn to burn the incense in the presence of the Lord so that
the whole assemble is profited .Paul continue to exhort believers through the
example of human body” if one member suffer all the members suffer with it “
through the head.Often we appreciate the profoundness of the doctrine and
ignore its application. May our good God continue to strengthen us, as we
endeavor to walk in His ways.
